Diwali Celebration-2018 on 6th Nov, 2018

 

PG Department of Computer Science and IT of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated eco-friendly Diwali on 6th November, 2018. Students of BCA, MSc(CS and IT) made Rangolis, decorated the block with the beautiful colors, Diyas and they also made the posters to convey the message to others to Diwali eco-friendly Diwali.
Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora appreciated the students along with madam Sushma Sharma.

SEMINAR ON CYBER SECURITY on 12th October, 2018

 

PG Department of Computer Science & IT organized a seminar on cyber security. Vishal Sharma(Technical trainer) from Hacking Teacher Knowledge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Jalandhar came to share his knowledge about cyber security  with our students. He gave information related cyber security like how to save your data on virtual network. Madam Principal Ms. Kiran Arora thanked the representatives for enlightening valuable knowledge to our students.

Industrial Visit on 5th October ,2018

 

60 students of BCA and M.Sc (IT & CS) of PG Department of Computer Science & IT went from an industrial visit at RCF Kapurthala. The visit was organized to impart students' knowledge regarding various aspects of the field of computer science & IT. Teachers of the IT department accompanied the students on the visit.Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora motivated the students as well as teachers to engage more in these kinds of activities as they gain valuable information

One day workshop on Career Guidance on 27th Sep, 2018

 

One day workshop on career guidance was organized by PG Department of Computer Science and IT of PCM SD college for women, Jalandhar. The motive of the workshop was to enhance the technical career path of the students. The faculty of NBS- Gurukul, Jalandhar shared their valuable knowledge with the students. They gave knowledge about the importance and certifications. The session was very interactive and inspiring for the students. Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora thanked the team of NBS-Gurukul, for guiding the students in today's era of technology as such cutting edges are very essential for the students.

Teachers Day celebrated by IT Department on 5th Sep, 2018

 

Teacher’s day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of IT department. They wished Madam Principal Dr. Kiran Arora by wishing her by token of love. Students also wished there teachers with greetings.

Freshers Party’18 on 30th-08-2018

 

A fresher’s party was held for the new students by the PG Department of Computer science & IT. The Seniors Contributed to the best of their abilities to create a vibrant ambiance for the freshers. The students dressed in their dazzling attires. They participated in various cultural events like dance, music & games. They exhibited their exquisite talents in Modeling and titles were conferred upon them together the same. Our Principal Dr. Kiran Arora & the Incharge of the IT block Mrs. Sushma Sharma graced the event by their magnificent presence. Ridhima of BCA-1^st was selected as Miss Fresher, Kajal of BCA-1^st selected as Miss Gorgeous, and Sakshi of MSC-IT 1^st Selected as Miss Elegant.

Counseling Session on importance of Certification in IT field by O7 Services on 27th-Aug-2018

 

One day Counseling session on “Importance of Certification in IT field” was organized by the department. The motive of this session was to give technical knowledge regarding popular computer languages. Mr. Gaurav (PHP & Java Developer) and Mr. Hardeep Singh (Android Developer) from O7 services come to share their valuable knowledge with students. Students were highly motivated about this certification. They were given information relating Android operating system, App Development & Software development languages. It was very useful for Students.

A Lecture On Preparation of UGC Examination on 24th-Aug-2018

 PG Department of Computer Science & IT organized a lecture on’ How to prepare for UGC examination’ on 24th-Aug-2018. Miss Richa (UGC-NET qualified in computer Science) guided students regarding Tips & Tricks for clearing UGC Net. She shared all the keys to cracking this exam and wished them All the best.

PG Department of Computer Science and IT Celebrated Sadhbhawna Divas (20th August 18)

 ‘Sadhbhawna Divas’ is celebrated every year at the birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who held a vision of a progressive nation.  The students took an oath in this occasion : ‘We swear to work towards the solidarity and goodwill of our fellow citizens irrespective of their caste, creed, religion and language. We must eradicate all the prejudices through peaceful dialogue all the constitutional means without resorting to violence’. Ms. Sushma Sharma Block Incharge addressed the students stating that the unity and integrity of a nation should be sustained by abandoning such prejudices.

PG Department of Computer Science and IT celebrated Independence Day on 14th-Aug-2018

 

PG Department of Computer Science and IT celebrated Independence Day. The block was decorated with tricolor balloons. The event started off with a deeply patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’. Then Anjali, the student of BCA 5thsem presented her speech on this special day. Madam Dr. (Mrs.) Kiran Arora congratulated the students and reminded them about the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters. She further added that it is the moral duty of every citizen to serve the nation with heart, mind, and soul. Mrs. Sushma Sharma, Block Incharge thanked the principal for sparing her precious time for the department. The event ended by reciting the national anthem. 

Aptitude Test Conducted By Career Launcher, Jalandhar

 

PG Department of Computer Science and IT organized an offline aptitude test conducted by Career Launcher, Jalandhar. The motive of the test was to give students an insight into the various competitive exams conducted by Govt. Institutes and Agencies. It will help students to introspect about their strengths and weakness in subjects like reasoning, aptitude, general awareness, etc. Mr. Aditiya Bali Marketing Head, Career Launcher was there to conduct the exam.

A Personality Development Session organized by PG Department of Computer Science & I.T in PCM S.D. College for Women

 

A Personality Development session for the students of PG Department of Computer Science & IT was organized in the premises of PCM S.D. College for Women. The motive of session was to improve communication skills, gain confidence for the students as in todays scenario with the inner and outer personality of a person should be strengthened the Bilingual Institute of language delivered the contents to the students. Ms. Jatinder Thandi (HR Head) and Mr. Satbir delivered the contents to the students. Madam Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora and Block Incharge Mrs. Sushma Sharma thanked the guests for their presence.

A session regarding Hardware of Computer organized by PG Department of Computer Science & IT in PCM S.D. College for Women

 

A hardware session for the students of the PG Department of Computer Science & IT was organized on the premises of PCM S.D. College for Women. The motive of the session was to provide hardware knowledge among the students. The session was headed by Mr. Gaurav. He provided knowledge about windows installation, different hardware devices of the computer system, and the contents of hardware which are related to the course work of the students. Madam Principal Dr. Kiran Arora and Block Incharge Mrs. Sushma Sharma appreciated Mr. Gaurav for this initiative.
