To boost the confidence of students, P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organised a "PowerPoint Presentation Contest" on March 11th, 2023. The competition was aimed to provide an open platform for students to express their views. Many students actively participated with enthusiasm in the event.
Judges of the event Ms. Annie Ahuja and Mrs. Karitika evaluated students on insight and understanding of their topic selection, voice and diction during their presentations, how their gestures and expressions contributed to their interpretation and the overall effectiveness of their presentations. The students dressed in their dazzling attires. They participated in various cultural events like dance, music & games. They exhibited their exquisite talents in Modeling and titles were conferred upon them together the same. Our Principal Dr. Kiran Arora & the Incharge of the IT block Mrs. Sushma Sharma graced the event by their magnificent presence. of the workshop was to enhance the technical career path of the students. The

Diwali Celebration-2018 on 6th November, 2018
PG Department of Computer Science and IT of PCM SD College for
Women, Jalandhar, celebrated eco-friendly Diwali on 6th November, 2018.
Students of BCA, MSc(CS and IT) made Rangolis, decorated the block with the
beautiful colors, Diyas and they also made the posters to convey the
message to others to Diwali eco-friendly Diwali.

Women Jalandhar celebrated teacher’s day with great enthusiasm Students
celebrated the eve to pay homage to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great
educationist. Head girl of IT Block Ms. Navneet Kaur and other students of the
department gave speech on birth anniversary by paying tribute to their
teacher’s and guru’s students also arranged some fun games and activities for
the teachers. Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora Cherished the love and
affection shown by the students for their teacher.

& IT organized fresher’s party 2017 to welcome new students. The party was
organized by the senior students to make new comers comfortable and adjust
easily in the new environment various cultural events were arranged for the day
like dance, skit, choreography etc. Modeling was done by new students to show
out their talent on the basis of which various titles were awarded like Miss
Gorgeous to Harjot Kaur – DCP, Miss Elegant Kaushki – BCA-1st. and finally, Miss Fresher of the department was awarded to
Nitika – BCA 1st. sem. Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora was chief guest for
the function accompanied by Madam Sushma Sharma (Block Incharge). Madam
Principal Welcomed students and motivated them to achieve better in their
respective fields and wished them luck for a bright future.
Independence day celebration’ on 14th August, 2017
INDEPENDENCE DAY was celebrated by PG Department of CS & IT with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students decorated a department with tricolor balloons and even dressed in the same color of patriotism. Each and every student was excited to share their views on the role of our freedom fighters to achieve and helped us to celebrate this day and the struggle they had to make our breaths in free air. Students sang patriotic songs, the national anthem, and national songs. Students even prepared a dance item to add more to the day. Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora and madam Sushma Sharma (Block Incharge) congratulated our students.
Tech Muse – 2017 (Inter college IT Fest)
PG Department of Computer Science & IT organized Tech Muse-2017, an inter-college competition. 140 students from 11 colleges participated in 11 technical and non-technical events like Web Development, net savvy, paper presentation, Ad Mad Show, choreography, and group dance. The function started by the lightening of lamp by the Chief Guest, Sh. Vinod Dada Ji, Joint Secretary, DSSD board. Madam Principal Dr. Kiran Arora Preceded over the from different colleges in the inaugural session.
Madam Principal highlighted the IT sector is need of an hour and how college is making its best so that students should because proficient in their field and meet the demands of the industry.
To judge the technical sessions judges Mr. Tejinder Thind (HOD, LPU), Dr. P.S Mann (AP, CSE, Dept. DAVIE) Dr. Dinesh (Head, IT Dept. DAVIET,) Mr. Tarun (AP, CSE, Dept., CT College, Mr. Varun marketing (Head, IT Session Solution) Mr. Karan (CEO, Itronix Solution.) were invited. On the other hand, cultural events were judged by Ms. Divya (Head Gravity Fitness & Dance Studio.) RJ Garima (102.7 FM), RJ Reet (My FM) and Ms. Mandeep Kaur Computer Teacher, DSSD school, Industrial school. Our college bagged positions in 8 events out of 11 like poster making, e-college, paper presentation Net Savvy, debugging, best out of r-waste, Ad Mad show, choreography and won overall trophy, followed by HMV as 1st Runner up with 6 prizes and Lyallpur Khalsa college as 2nd Runner up with 5 prizes.

One Day Seminar on PHP & Java Technologies on 1st November, 2017
PG Department of CS & IT of PCM SD College for Women organized
a one-day seminar on trending technologies PHP & Java by Dream Tech labs.
Mr. Rajvansh (Embedded Trainer) was accompanied by Ms. Harpreet Kaur
(counselor), Ms. Baljit Kaur, and Nikil Garg (Faculty Members). They guided the
students about the trending technologies. They explore the use of PHP &
Java in developing software modules and web-based applications.

One Day Workshop on Android App Development on 3rd November, 2017
PG Department of CS & IT of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar Organized one day workshop on “Android App Development” Vipan Mehra (Managing Director) and Hardeep Singh (Android Developer) from 07 Services, Jalandhar came to share their technical knowledge with our students. They gave information related to the Android operating system, cloud computing, and virtualization dual-mode operating system. They gave a complete demo of how to develop an Android App.

Two-day workshop on “Android Development” was organized by the development. The motive of the workshop was to give technical knowledge regarding Android App development. Mr. Gaurav (PHP & Java Developer) and Mr. Hardeep Singh (Android Developer) from O7came to share their valuable knowledge with the students. Students from other colleges participated in the workshop. PG Department of CS & IT of PCM SD College for Women,
Jalandhar, organized a free computer workshop for senior citizens and
housewives on the internet and mobile operating skills from 12th Dec 2017
-22nd Dec
2017. In this workshop knowledge about the basics of computers and the latest
mobile apps was given training was imparted with the motive that they can
also cope up with the latest trends and societal needs. The participants feel
pleased as they can now manage to be part of changing technological trends same

One day Workshop on
“motion Graphics” was conducted by Arena Animation, Jalandhar. Mr. Himanshu
Mittal an expert in VFX & video editing took class. He shared his knowledge
and experience about motion graphics. Mr. Virat Kumar, Mr. Mohit Bhagat,
Mr.Anmol Bhardwaj and Ms.Gajayarti accompanied them.
Madam Principal Dr.Mrs.Kiran Arora Inaugurated the Workshop. She welcomed the
Guest and thanked to provide such valuable knowledge. Mr. Himanshu gave
Practical demo of video editing and how to prepare advertisement. Students
learnt a lot from the workshop.

on ‘Ethical Hacking'. Mr. Karan Arora, director & founder of ITRONIX
Solution, and Mr. Sunny Singh, Senior information security analyst from ITRONIX
Solution visited the campus to deliver Knowledge to students regarding ethical
hacking, hiding confidential files, making portable windows, and windows
hacking.

experts from ITRONX to provide such valuable information to the students and
making them aware of the ethical hacking.

Students of BCA and
M.Sc. went on Industrial visits at Dreamtech labs, Jalandhar. Students were
given knowledge related to topics related to multimedia. Students were shown
PowerPoint presentation related to important concepts of graphics, CAD/CAM.
Workshop on Embedded System on 24th September, 2016
PG Department of CS & IT Organized one day
Workshop on the concepts of “Embedded System". Mr. Darpan, Mr. Varun
Sambha and Ms. Jatinder Thandi from dream tech labs delivered the lecture
and made students aware of the practical aspects of embedded systems. They
practically implemented the working of the program on hardware and the usage of
chips for the same. Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Kiran Arora & Mrs. Sudesh
Sehgal & Staff members of CS Department were also present in the workshop.
Madam Principal appreciated the knowledge imparted
to the students by the team and also emphasized that workshops should be
organized to enhance students’ abilities.

One day faculty development program was organized by the dept. on the topic “Basic of Robotics”. Mr. Karan from ITRONIX solution gave the lecture as the topic. He was Covered Topics like the use of embedded System in our daily life, how it is Build and how embedded system can be used to build robots. He also gave a practical demo and prepared a mini lite detection. Madam Jaspreet, HOD thanked Mr. Karan for the useful lecture.
Diwali Celebration on 28th October, 2016

Celebrated Diwali was the use of e-waste material. Students of all classes
prepared beautiful and useful items out of electronic waste. An item like amps,
wall Clocks, Shows, fans, etc. was made. Madam Principal appreciated the
students for their creativity and boosted than to enhance their skills.
